Wheelchair Dance Training Camp, Supported by the University of Malta 29th November – 1st December 2010 After the Malta Open Dance Spectacular The training Camp schedule is divided into 2 a) For dancers, teachers & coaches who are more interested in the technique of the standing partner & the wheelchair dancer. This will include hold, dynamics, rules, how to obtain the maximum from the minimum, how to use the wheelchair for the best effect, basic movements and how to expand these movements into competitive choreography within the guidelines of the judging criteria. How to develop arm movements. Mock competitions. There will also be a specialized lecture on the use of energy from a lecturer from the University of Malta. On each day there will be mock competitions. b) For teachers coaches & adjudicators interested in judging competitions including rules & judging criteria. This will include separate sessions from group a). There will be participation in mock competitions with the results being discussed in later sessions. Discussions and question and answer sessions will also be a part of the workshops to enable people to discuss their individual problems. Lecturers to be confirmed depending on the number of participants. Fee - €50.00 per day including coffee break & light lunch. |
